What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, which is characterized by extreme relaxation and heightened level of subconscious suggestibility. It is usually induced by another person while the subject retains awareness of the presence of the hypnotherapist. Simply put, when you are in hypnosis, you are in a different state than your normal waking state.
Does hypnosis really work?
Yes, it works for the majority of people although you must be open minded, looking for positive change and desiring it to work. Hypnosis works with your subconscious mind to create success – incredibly dramatic success – in your life! Hypnosis is a very powerful tool for positive change. The power of hypnosis is documented by doctors, dentists and many other leading health professionals.
How does hypnosis work?
When you relax, your body releases any tension and your body and mind automatically shifts its state of consciousness. For the purpose of the hypnosis contained on the professional CDs created by Simon Edwards, your mind goes into hypnosis because this is the way you are being directed. In listening to the CDs for the purpose of making successful change in your life, you are following along cooperatively with the suggestions that Simon Edwards is giving.
How do I know if I can be a hypnotised?
Since we all go into different forms of hypnosis throughout our daily lives (as an example, every time you day dream, lose track of time and so on), everybody is able to be hypnotised to some degree. Numerous hypnosis experiments have repeatedly shown that normal people, with moderate to high intelligence and the ability to concentrate, can be hypnotised. In fact, people seem to have the ability to improve and become better subjects with practise.
The key factors are that you want to experience change and you feel comfortable with Simon in order to have success. The level of concentration that you ultimately achieve will depend directly on how well you follow Simon’s suggestions.
Is hypnosis dangerous?
Many, many doctors and psychologists state that there are no dangers involved with hypnosis. Since relaxation is the primary focus of hypnosis, it actually helps to relieve tension and anxieties, which further serves to help you achieve a greater state of relaxation in a far shorter period of time than while in the natural sleep state.
Andre M. Weitzenhoffer, Ph.D, a highly regarded authority in the field of mind science, writes:
“As far as it is known today, hypnosis per se is no more dangerous than natural sleep. There is no evidence that hypnosis in itself weakens the will, damages the nervous system or in any way adversely affects the physical or mental well being of individuals.”
Leslie N. LeCron, psychologist, states:
“As to self-induction, many thousands have learned it and I have yet to hear a report of any bad results of its use”
However, just like drugs or any other treatment, it can be mis-used.
Milton Erickson M.D. a psychiatrist and leading authority on hypnosis, stated that hypnosis itself has never been harmful in any way to a subject…..it is the mis-use, not hypnosis itself, which could be harmful.
Any normally intelligent person can be hypnotised. Caution needs to be taken individuals who are incapacitated by anxiety or depression or who are deeply emotionally troubled. Anyone who is greatly disturbed, greatly depressed, on the verge of a “nervous breakdown” or in danger of becoming insane would not normally be hypnotised.

Can I be made to do something in hypnosis that i don’t want to do?
Very definitely not! You are fully aware and alert during hypnosis and know exactly what is occurring. You will not do anything under Hypnosis contrary to your moral principles. You are fully in control during hypnosis.
While listening to Simon Edwards, you are aware of everything the entire time and can even reject any suggestions that you don’t want to follow. Just as you cannot be hypnotized against your will, you CANNOT be made to do anything that you don’t want to do while experiencing the state of hypnosis.
